Laser Welding Structural Steel

Laser welding of black and white joints (mixed joints)

With more than 20 years worth of experience in laser welding and laser fine welding of all kinds of steel, customers of all industries can rely on numerous benefits. These benefits include visually appealing, high-quality, non-porous, and strong welds; slightest thermal warping; and high welding speed – just to name a few.

Long-lasting experience and our modern machinery in the field of thermal joining technology enable us to weld even difficult joints. So called “black and white joints”, which means joints of austenitic steel (premium steel) and unalloyed or low alloy steel (e.g. ST 37), are part of our range of services.

Joining different metal alloys of varied thicknesses is no problem at all. Even when welding extremely thin and very voluminous parts, we are able to ensure warping-free, strong, and visually appealing welds, regardless of welding with or without filler material.

For quality assurance purposes, we make use of cutting-edge metrology for dimensional inspection, hydrogen leakage tests for checking tightness, or macrosections for determining weld location and penetration depth.
